Basic Concealed Carry
This introductory course is designed for individuals who want to build a strong foundation in safe and responsible firearm ownership. Students will learn how to safely handle their firearm while developing the fundamental skills and confidence needed for continued training and concealed carry. Upon successful completion, students will receive the Basic Firearms Safety Course certificate required to apply for a Florida Concealed Carry permit.
With recent changes to Florida law, this course is open to eligible individuals 18 years of age and older, making it an excellent first step toward obtaining your Florida concealed carry license.
During the course students will learn:
- Range safety
- The function of the handgun
- How to load, reload, and unload the handgun
- The basic fundamentals of shooting
- Accuracy
- How to clear malfunctions
Required Equipment:
- Handgun
- Handgun magazines - minimum of 2
- Concealment holster (Not mandatory)
- 100 rounds of ammunition per hour session
- Eye protection
- Hearing protection
