Steve Weyer proudly served with the United States Air Force as security forces patrolman, K-9 handler, and K-9 trainer. Upon his departure from the USAF he began his career in local law enforcement where he has served over 20 years collectively as municipal Police Officer, Deputy Sheriff, and currently Federal Police Officer with the Department of Defense. Steve has experience in various specialized units such as K-9, Street Crimes, Major Crimes, Multi Agency Narcotics and Violent Felony Fugitive Units. During his career he has participated in numerous large-scale joint operations with various federal agencies to include the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency, the United States Marshal Service, the Federal Bureau of Investigations.
Steve has over 2000 hours of advanced and specialized training and holds numerous instructor certifications to include:
- Ballistic shield instructor
- Firearms instructor
- Defensive tactics instructor
- Emergency vehicle operations instructor
- Pistol mounted optics instructor
- Rifle/carbine instructor
During his law enforcement career Steve received 6 Commendation Awards, 1 Medal of Merit, and 1 Outstanding Performance Award.
