KATHLEEN HENSLEY
LMHC-S, NCC, CCMHC, CFRC CERTIFIED FIRST RESPONDER CLINICIAN/Instructor
Kathleen is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) working in private practice at The Crane Center, LLC in Destin, Florida. She holds a B.S. degree in Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice. She also holds a M.S. degree in Counseling and Psychology (Clinical Mental Health) from Troy University. She has over 10 years’ experience working in clinical mental health care and offers a wide array of services to individuals, couples, and families.
She is Certified First Responder Counselor and is trained in the unique culture of First Responders. She assisted in establishing the Mental Health and Wellness Program at Walton County Sheriff’s Office, which includes law enforcement operations, jail operations, fire rescue, animal services, and communications by providing individual counseling and facilitating critical incident debriefings to department members. She enjoys training and educating first responders on the importance of mental health wellness in the first responder culture. She has always had interest in helping those who serve and protect the community as she grew up in a first responder family.
Kathleen is nationally board-certified counselor (NCC). She also holds an advanced level credential as a Certified Mental Health Counselor (CCMHC) for professionals practicing clinical mental health counseling. She has earned the designation of Emergency Responder and Public Safety Certified Clinician (NERPSC), a community of certified mental health professionals dedicated to caring for and serving emergency responders and public safety personnel and their families.
In addition to being a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, she is also a Qualified Supervisor for the State of Florida and offers clinical supervision for Florida Mental Health Counseling Registered Interns.
Kathleen is also a trained hostage negotiator and continues to train in crisis intervention/ response.
