Pistol Mounted Optics (DOT) for law enforcement
Course Description
During this 8-hour course students will gain an understanding of the technical principles, advantages, and limitations of the pistol mounted optic (PMO), as well as practical skills for acquiring the dot faster and managing the dot through recoil.
During the course students will learn:
- Basic PMO maintenance
- Draw and presentation
- Skills to locate the DOT quickly and consistently
- Reloading with a PMO
- Overcoming failures, obstructions or inoperable damage
Required Equipment:
- PMO equipped pistol
- 400 rounds of ammo
- Holster that will accommodate weapon system
- Eye protection
- Hearing protection
- PMO equipment manual
